  • Sign up to be an Ozone NY partner. Your company will be listed on our web site as an ozone-action organization and receive free Ozone Action Alerts.
  • When you receive Ozone Alerts, display or distribute them to employees to make them aware of the risks to their health and the actions they can take to protect themselves and their families. The NY DOT announces an Ozone day one day in advance to enable organizations and individuals to adjust their normal routines to help reduce ozone-producing emissions.
  • When you get the Ozone Action Alert take Action. Ozone NY usually announces an Ozone Action Day one day in advance. Individuals can adjust their normal routines and help reduce ozone-producing emissions.

    • Encourage employees to take public transportation.
    • Encourage ride-sharing.
    • Provide a company-wide incentive plan. Call 866-OZONENY for assistance. Incentives such as free giveaways, free MetroCards or TransitChecks, carwash gift certificates or movie theater tickets are great ways to encourage staff to participate.
    • Refuel fleet vehicles in the evening.
    • Service fleet vehicles regularly (tune-ups, oil changes and proper tire inflation reduces emissions and saves money).

    • Create preferred parking for carpool or vanpool riders.
    • Monitor reduced S.O.V. usage among staff on Ozone Actions Days (employee logs supplied).
